Professor Adrian Furnham – Management Incompetence: Why Managers Fail and Derail?

Adrian is one of the most productive and influential Psychologists of our time. Having published over 700 scientific papers and 57 books, he has an impressively wide spectrum of research interests. He is currently a Professor of Psychology at University College London, a post which he has held since 1992. He also holds visiting professorships at the University of New South Wales, the University of the West Indies, the University of Hong Kong, amongst others. Adrian is a Fellow of the British Psychological Society as well as on the editorial board of a number of international journals. He is also a newspaper columnist and media contributor, having previously written for the Financial Times, the Sunday Times and the Daily Telegraph and appearing on television channels such as the BBC, CNN and ITV. Since 2007 he has been nominated by HR magazine as one of the 20 Most Influential People in HR. During this masterclass, Adrian will be discussing the reasons why leaders fail and derail, centring on extreme personality and selection and assessment issues.
